Corporate briefing
Bring evidence, experience, perspective and AI-enabled synthesis into one disciplined process.
Discuss your live strategic question, the leadership team involved and the most suitable dates with PCL.
The strategic challenge
Political, economic, technological and societal conditions continue to change. More information can amplify noise, reinforce assumptions and create false confidence rather than sharpen the choice in front of the team.
Evidence is plentiful, but interpretation is inconsistent.
Assumptions go untested until they become costly.
Strategic conversations circle without converging.
Options on the table are variations of the same idea.
Trade-offs stay implicit, so nothing is truly excluded.
Alignment is assumed rather than tested.
Ambition outruns organisational capability.
Strategy documents do not change what the organisation does.
These are signs that the programme may be relevant, not an assessment of any single organisation.
The three-day experience
Working with one live organisational challenge, teams interpret evidence, test assumptions, navigate trade-offs and convert collective judgement into a coherent strategic response.
The FLUX environment, the Strategy Intelligence Pack, critical assumptions and an uncertainty diagnosis, closing on strategic posture, resource-allocation profile and current position.
Validate evidence through Syntheon synthesis, generate materially different options, then define the winning aspiration, where to play, how to win, capabilities and management systems.
Interpret the final Syntheon assessment, close capability and management-system gaps, prioritise moves, signposts, governance and measures, and complete the 90-day execution charter.
What your leaders build
Connect six thinking disciplines around one strategic challenge instead of treating them as separate techniques.
Extract meaning from evidence, validate assumptions and choose when certainty is clouded.
Turn diverse perspectives into shared priorities, explicit trade-offs and a practical way forward.
AI-integrated facilitation is embedded throughout the experience, not added at the end. Leaders retain accountability for every final choice.
What you receive
Syntheon is applied, customised and measurable. Every output is built around your live strategic question.

Strategy | Leadership | AI | Judgement

Professor Steyn Heckroodt is a strategy and leadership authority whose work examines what leaders require to think clearly, act responsibly and make defensible choices in increasingly complex environments.
He works with boards, executive teams, senior leaders and high-potential talent across public and private-sector organisations. With experience spanning more than 50 countries and deep roots in the Gulf, he brings international and cross-sector pattern recognition while remaining attentive to the strategic, institutional and cultural realities of each organisation.
Syntheon is Professor Heckroodt's Cognitive Thinking Architecture for strategic thinking, synthesis, judgement under uncertainty and decision support. It integrates six interdependent disciplines: futures, systems, design, analytical, creative and strategic thinking, enabling leaders to reach more considered, coherent and defensible judgements.
He holds a PhD in Strategy, Business Management and Administration from Stellenbosch University.
Why PCL
Platform for Connected Leadership (PCL) is a leadership capability company powered by technology. PCL enables organisations to build the leadership capability required to navigate complexity, strengthen performance and work effectively in a world being reshaped by AI.
Syntheon turns strategic thinking into a lived leadership experience. Participant inputs and team choices are captured at key points and synthesised through Syntheon, revealing alignment, divergence, blind spots and hidden assumptions. The assessment acts as a mirror, not a pass mark.
Leadership capability for the Human-AI era.
PCL's frameworks and published thinking have appeared in Harvard Business Review Arabia and MIT Technology Review Arabia.
